Keeping up with the online marketing industry can be difficult at times. Nevertheless, reading at least one hour every day and engaging with other people in the industry is part of the lifelong education of any great marketer.

The people we learn from have the biggest influence on who we become and on how we work. We want to learn from people who have unique insights and exclusive information resources to test things we might not be able to.

Knowing who to follow and learn from can be challenging, especially if you are just starting out in online marketing. Your learnings can make or break your marketing results, and, in the long run, your marketing career.

There are a lot of marketing gurus and ninjas who post content without value, wasting our time, or even worse, giving us bad advice. They blog about marketing techniques they don’t really use or understand. Some of those people never even worked in the marketing area before becoming bloggers! Let’s stay away from those.

All the 15 experts mentioned below have real work experience in the industry. They all post actionable tips and tricks so there’s a lot of value in their tweets. Currently working as a Marketing Specialist at Appointfix, a product by Mobiversal, and having worked in the online marketing industry for over a decade, I can honestly say these are the people that I’ve learned the most from.

1. Luke Wroblewski

Luke is a Product Director at Google. He founded two companies, one was acquired by Google and one by Twitter. He previously worked at the NCSA, eBay, and Yahoo!. Luke is the author of three popular Web design books:  Mobile First, Web Form Design & Site-Seeing: A Visual Approach to Web Usability.

Peep is one of my favorite people to follow in the industry. He is the owner of CXL Agency, CXL institute, Copytesting, and Adeft. His tweets are focused on conversion optimization and user experience and they’re very insightful. But the biggest reason why I love learning from Peep is his mindset, drive, and attitude. Extremely ambitious guy!

Aleyda is one of the most influential women in the SEO industry. She is an SEO Consultant, Author & Speaker. She’s very active on social media channels, but also hosts podcasts and interviews.
